Landsknecht Guild

We talked a bit this weekend about towns that are near Rreischach.  You can check Google Maps for other towns, but there are two very good candidates of a bit to the south (about 6 miles) and across the river Inn.

It was an important trading town for salt and grain, had its own mint, and was a military base for the Bavarian forces to keep Mühldorf a. Inn, a rivaling town under the control of the bishop of Salzburg, in check.

Site of pilgrimages to view the Black Madonna in the Chapel of Mercy and the Augustinian Abbey which included a sizeable treasure of reliquaries of which the most precious was the holy Apostle Philip’s arm. Altöttling was one of the major pilgrimage sites in Europe, as well as being one of the main routes on the pilgrimage to Rome. 

Both towns provide plenty of opportunities to interact with soliders and pilgrims.
