I mentioned today that I was planning to visit Plimouth Plantation in the next couple of weeks, and a couple of people said that they might like to come along. I have it penciled in on my calendar for Friday the 11th, and it sounded like most of the frauen who might want to come along are free that date. Not sure of any of the speisstragen are free and want to come along?
1) It's a chance to see just about the only professional reenactors anywhere close to our period in the US. And they're right here in New England!
2) They have a Crafts Center gift shop that sells all sorts of arts and crafts that, since they're only about 150 years past our period, may be useful for the encampment. The book selection was pretty impressive too.
The various areas open between 9:00 and 9:30. If folks have never been there, it's probably worth meeting at the Mayflower II and at least taking a walk through (I don't remember the Mayflower gift shop being worth visiting, lots of pirate stuff, cause' Plimouth was all about the pirates. Yeah….). Tickets for the ship and village are separate, so we'd want to know before we bought tickets if we were going to both.
Or, since folks will be driving a ways, we may want to meet a bit later in the day?
