As we discussed at the end of the meeting, we need to start thinking about the next one. Since the holiday seasonis so crazy, those of us at dinner Saturday night hit on the idea of a Twelfth Night get together, which is also far more historical. Now, technically, that would be January 6th, but I recommend the 9th since it's a Saturday. Location to be determined based on what we do for a workshop. Format would be:
Morning - Bylaw discussion
Afternoon - Workshop (TBD, but cooking might be good as we could eat the food for dinner?)
Late afternoon/evening - party!
We can make determinations on what we want to do for the party (in Landsknecht? Gift exchange? Period food?)
It will be winter, so we need to keep that in mind. We'll gladly offer up our place and we have plenty of crash space. This will also allow us to not stress about Freke.
Let the ideas flow!

We couldn't make a morning on the 9th. We're attending a Rev War ball the night before.

I think once we figure out everything we're doing, that may not be too bad. Maybe:
12-3: bylaws
3-6: cooking workshop
6-??:eat and party!

I could defenetly do the 9th! How do we feel about bringing new comers to this? I'm guessing maybe not this time, but I figured I'd ask.

At the moment it looks like I can make it, but I'll know a little better in a week or two (whenever the big family calender gets set up with all the “events” going on…).

BTW, Kris, I think you're right that this isn't the best one to which you should bring newbies.

Father Ludwig can also do the 9th, so Betsy, if you can do a switch, that would be good. That puts us at 9 or 10 (since I'm not sure Kris is speaking for Eric or not), so I think it's a lock.
I think we slightly modify the timeline above:
1-3: bylaws (after 2 hours on this we may want to kill each other, besides, we can keep chatting after dinner)
3-6: cooking workshop
6-??:eat and party!
I suggest we set the following Saturday, 1/16, as a snow date.
I'll start another thread on the cooking workshop.

Ummmm… I'm not sure if I'm out of the loop, forgot, or just total missed it but did we come up with where this will be yet. Because that may play a role in who among us can go. I know some people work Sundays, or the length of the drive will push a decision one way or the other should there be a possible storm coming (all the more so if it's a snow storm).

I hope we don't have to use the snow date, as I'll be in SC on the 16th. *Crosses fingers for good weather*
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone!

Well, I'm assuming we're doing this at our house here in NH, but we do have crash space for those who don't want to drive back home afterward.

I know we are doing a cooking demo, but are there things you would like people to bring as well? Drinks, chips, deserts? Maybe it depends on what we are cooking?
Batman is looking into comming, somehow he's not on the e-mail list so he didn't get any of the e-mail reminders. I assumed he was checking the forum, but apparently I was wrong! (AGAST!) We'll let you know in a few days weather its both of us, or just me.

Things for me have been going a little rough over the past several weeks. Unfortunately that meens I may not be available this weekend after all. I apologize for the last minute notice but I will be honest, with everything running around in my head at the moment I lost track.
I am currently planning on making the early portion of the day, and hopefully part of the demo to assist and learn a few things but I may have to leave early. I'll be there as long as I can, but at the least I'll be around for the business portion unless things get more troublesome for me over the next couple days. I'm hoping I will have some things worked out and it will go the other direction allowing me to stay and party with folks as well.
See you all soon,
Kirk

I most likely won't be able to stay for the festivities afterwards, due to what will be a waiting family. But I will still bring food.
