Folks, as some of you may know, Alena and I are working up a new podcast called “Living History” and Alena had a thought for an episode focused on the brand-spanking new reenactor. Within our unit we have 4 people who've never done faire or, to our knowledge, any historical performance/presentation. As such, we'd like to do a short panel with Chase, Alex, Betsy, and Eric if at all possible this weekend. I suspect it would take us about 45 minutes, start to finish (once Alena and I are set up) and could be done in the encampment (weather permitting) or anywhere we can get power.

Would you guys be available and/or interested in helping us out?

That sounds fine to me.  I'd definitely have some things to say about it.  >.<

Sure thing; as long as it's not much before 8 on Saturday (I have to stop at the dump or the house trash stays 'til Tuesday… not cool), otherwise whenever you want.

I was thinking it would more likely be at the end of the day, so we do not cut into our set-up time. I'd appreciate the feedback as well as the participation in the podcast. If you want a sneak peak at the questions let me know and I'll sling them your way!

Oh, having the questions ahead of time wouldn't be a bad idea actually.  Feel free to post them here or email me.

This is the starting off point, things may get worded differently, also we might ask follow-up questions if the situation seems to warrant it. If there is a question you would like to be asked that is not on here let me know, we'd be happy to oblige.

What kind of living history experience do you have? (i.e. in the last few years have you visited: a renfaire, reenactment, museum etc.)

What attracted you about becoming a member of the guild of saint Morritz? (not my girlfriend/uncle/and chance email but once you’d heard about it, what made you become an active member?)

How do you describe your weekends to your friends and family?

Is there anything about your experience that you did not expect?

Was there anything that you did expect but have not experienced yet?

Now that I know what you are getting out of it. Do you think the visitors are getting anything out of visiting us?

Do you think you will continue to do this or other reenactments?

I'm happy to help with the podcast too. I was thinking it might be a good idea to do some of it in garb and some in “normal” clothes. It might make the concept more approachable to a more diverse base.  Just a thought.
