Greetings,

My name is Liam, I am new to the forum. I thought this would be a good place for these thoughts.

I imagine there must be a range of historically correct Card and Chess Like games. I am afraid that I am very unfamiliar with the topic, and suspect that there must be a healthy body of knowledge on the subject. I happen to be searching for historically accurate rules to card games.

Board Game Geek links would be welcome. Additional thoughts are encouraged as well.

I thought I might post a personal favorite, although not technically era I feel the setting and “mojo” are well within the bounds of the website. I also enjoy playing it very much.

Condottiere Cover, Euro Edition

Random Peices

The game is about bluffing and using mercenaries to hold and fight for territories. A very simple and nice looking game, plenty of woodcut stile artwork and theme. The euro version has an extremely high production value.

Any other games you folks enjoy? What would be the intrest in a Landsknecht gaming night?

Oh My, I dont dare bring a post back thats been dead since 2009. Here.

Ravensburger made a wonderfull gaming board for Gluckshaus in part of a kit containing multiple historical board games included in Schöne alte Spiele. I think the board is really cool looking… and an afternoon spent with acrilics could make the company logo disipear very quickly.

The artwork is outstanding. Components are included for a number of games. I allways thought it would be fun to own a copy.

Unfortunately by looking at the clothing the figures are wearing I would say that particular design is a bit beyond our time period. However, I am sure a similar design could be replicated with paint by some of our artistically talented guild members.

And welcome to the guild forums, Liam.
