Good news, we're Landsknecht this spring! The deal is we'll work up to doing the Medieval for next year and will do different demos this one. So, we got what we wanted, now we need to start setting rehearsals.

Of note, we also have a number of folks who are interested in joining us, so I will start letting them know what our membership process looks like. Hopefully a few can join us for the spring!

Good news indeed.  When planning rehearsals maybe set aside another Osgoods run?  I know that I would love to modify a lot of what I have already.

Whoot!  That is good news!

*Marks CTRF weekends on calendar*

So, how many rehearsals do you think we need, o Hauptman? My weekends seem to be filling up fast, and I'd like to make sure I'm available for rehearsal dates.

And Chase, I'm always up for an Osgood's run anytime you want to go!  Any new folks will probably want to go fabric shopping too.

I have to get a good idea of who we'll have as newbies. I also want to allow music time. Amanda, can you give me a number of hours you think we need? I know you have to get info from Denise as well. Hopefully we can incorporate at least a few of the Landsknecht songs into the mis that we can also use in the fall while around camp or marching.

I want to keep our count lowish,b ut I think right now we'll be looking at 4. From our feedback in November, we'll be looking at doing Saturdays, I believe.

The time requirement depends on how much we want to accomplish.  Do you want me to stick to German and Italian music from the late 1400s to the early 1500s?  Do we want to sing some stuff in English?  Some of the lyrics are likely to be in Latin as well.  Have you sent me sheet music for the marching songs?  I'm a little sheet music dependant when it come to foreign languages.

All I have on the marching songs are lyrics, which I've sent and are here on the forum. I don't know where we would look for sheet music on those.

I think if we can do foreign language songs it greatly reduces our overlapping with Denise and may be more accurate for us as being from the Continent, but will an audience enjoy it? Realistically we won't be forming an amazing singing group like the cast. I think our appeal/target as a group is the fact that everyone sang back then as a form of entertainment.

Do you want to work on a set to get into the program or just something for people to notice as they walk by?  I think if we can handle three part harmony and possibly add some some instruments that the audience will enjoy the beauty of the music, but for a limited time.  A few English pieces scattered in would help hold people if you want to do a full demo.  I've found a lot more latin and Italian music than German, but I'll keep looking.  How big of a time span would you like me to consider?

I think I'll be able to better answer this when we know who may be there when. We're looking at 6-8 of us each weekend, from what I can tell, so that may have an impact on what we can do. Let's revisit this in a week when we hopefully know better.

Where is the faire being held again?

I know I am not available the middle weekend and the driving distance will be a big factor in if I can make the others. Also, will depend on if I can get my tent down there or if I have someplace else to stay if I cannot.

I am all for another Osgoods run as well

Also, since I had to leave early, what were the guidlines decided on for new members so I can pass the word on?
