Alright, time to put in your orders. I will be sending off a bulk order from these fine folks:
http://www.westlandcrafts.com
I need the following info from anyone who is ordering shoes.
Style (yes, we can combine styles in the order, so if you want medeval or colonial shoes, go for it!)
Tudor/Landsknecht shoes are $40 delivered. E-mail me for prices on other styles, most of them are also $40-50)
Color you want (available in Black, Dark Brown, Golden Brown, Red, Green, Blue, White, and Natural)
Slashed available for $2 extra, any color
Size you want (available in Women's 5-10, Men's 6-15, this is expanded from last year!)
Quantity (Unless you say you want more, I'll assume one pair)
I'm going to try to put in the order by the end of this weekend. That gives us a month to get shoes to Liam for Great Northeastern War, and may allow Brittney to get shoes for her show.

What are people's thoughts on shoes in colors other than black and brown? Has anyone found documentation for these?

Amanda, I think the safest bet is to stick with either the natural colors or black. Almost everything you see in the woodcuts is black, but I also know that dyed leather was an additional cost, so I think that a natural brown leather is also appropriate.
Eventually someone in the group is going to have to break down and start doing research in inventories in order to be able to answer this sort of question!

Sadly they’re site has been hacked, so I can’t look at the other styles available.
Thanks, Julie, for picking this up while I was away for so long!

Here’s a link to the Landsknechte ones, cached: http://webcache.googleusercont…..google.com
What you do is run a Google search on “Westland Crafts” but add the name of the style you want to look at, like “Westland Crafts Tudor”. Then, in the results you get, you’ll notice a cached option in the bottom right for each result. Click that.
Hope that helps!

I guess for now a dk. brown men's 7 would do for me. If I can get back to the site, I did want to see about the earlier period ones though.

The Web site is unhacked!
Shoe order may wait until the end of the week. I have a job interview today, the School gig on Thursday, so Friday may be the first time I have free brain cycles to think about it again.

Oh, and Brittney, did you notice that they've added women's sizes since last year? Do you still want to order a men's shoe?

Any thoughts on the periodness of the luxury calf boots? I really like them.
I sent an e-mail about the 2 others for my show to my director so I should be hearing back about them today. Also since I have wide feet I'll be ordering men's sizing for me, its 2 sizes off right? I'm a 9 so I'd order a 7 in mens?

I did notice, thanks Julie. But I am a bit worried about the difference in sizes. The sole of the men's ones are already a bit more narrow than I would like. So, I think going down one men's size might be safer for me then switching to women's right now. The men's 8 that I ordered last time have worked pretty well, but they stretched so much from wearing the first few times that I would like to order the 7s and see if those are better. I'm with Kris and the wide feet camp

Also, if it is not too late or not too much trouble, could the color of mine be switched to black?
