here we go again! Hope everything turns out as well as last weekend!

Saturday:

Blancmange - an almost-pudding of chicken in rice and milk (almonds on the side)

Apple Fritters - crushed up apple bits in a dough made with beer

Fried Spinach - blanched spinach fried in bacon with spices

Armored Turnips - a casserole of turnips and cheese

Compost - just like last weekend,

Sunday:
Egarduse - fish with sauce like last weekend

Sweet Frumenty - cracked wheat boiled in some sort of liquid probably just water, with honey, cinnamon and ginger

Roasted Carrots - carrots roasted and sliced with olive oil, thyme and oregano

Stuffed Eggs - like deviled eggs, only with a lemon sauce on the outside

Looks great, but there seems to be a lot of meat & dairy.  Is it going to be OK for Brittney?

There should be 2-3 things every day that Brittney can eat. On Saturday we'll cook some of the spinach (which might turn out to be collard greens) in olive oil instead, the fritters do not contain any dairy, and the compost is meat & dairy free. On Sunday there is Frumenty and Carrots plus I'm sure there will be compost left.

I have to make sure the meat eaters get fed too, I'm hoping that everyone gets to eat at least 2 things, but I can not guarantee an entire meal for everyone.

Sunday looks like no problem for me. And on Saturday, I can bring something else to eat if I need. And yes, the compost and if there is spinach(collards) without bacon along with the bread and “wine” will be fine. I'll just make sure to bring something on the weekends just in case. (Since I can't really eat at the food vendors)

Oh, the other option I see, if it doesn't throw your planning entirely off, is to switch the spinach and carrots. That way you wouldn't have to make a seperate batch of spinach, and I would have a dish each day that I could eat with bread and be completely fine. (I probably won't eat the fritters because of the beer) If that is a problem though, really don't worry at all, I know in advance so I will still bring something myself.

And I will let you know by this evening if I will be bringing more bread for this weekend. It is hopefully rising now, but these little yeasties are hard to control. Eventually I will get it perfect every time, but at this point I only know it worked when it is done.

Thanks for looking out for me guys!

Oh yes. Bread has been achieved. Perhaps a bit more sourdough in flavor this time. The yeast were overactive today, but it should mellow and be quite fine by the weekend. 2 and a partial loaves. Well, I had to try it to make sure it wouldn't poison the fahnlein. ;)
