Hmmm, our non-period cook pots may actually be period?

So, those two “brass trade kettles” that I bought from Smoke and Fire?  The ones that we've sort of assumed were not period, since Smoke and Fire sells mostly colonial era kit?

I just found a 1618 painting that has one in it.  http://www.wga.hu/art/s/snyder…..arket3.jpg

90 years is still a bit out of our period to call them actually documentable for us, but I'm happy to find that they're not quite as farby as we were thinking they were.

Now to find an image that is actually *inside* the 50-year-on-either-side-of-1529 window that I've set for myself for period authentic material culture.
