Not that I'm thinking that we'll get to this anytime soon, but I wanted to let you guys see these pages, plus put the links somewhere where I won't lose them.
Baking bread in a recontructed Iron Age oven

Colonial Clay oven

Kinda cool! And definately something to think about if CTRF ever gets a hard site.

While I love the idea of baking bread, how conceivable is it that the Landsknecht would be baking their own bread while on campaign? I had assumed it would be more feasible for them to just buy it from village bakers like most other people without convenient access to bread ovens. I haven't researched that at all though, so just a question.

We probably would have been buying our bread locally. It's just that I had just been having a conversation with Alena about having a baker on site (not us) and thought, rather than sending just her the links, I'd share them with everyone.

It would be really cool when the group gets huge and CTRF gets a permanent site to have a village for the Landsknecht to interact with. Let's see, a baker, a butcher, a swordsmith, a tavern…
I must say though, I have always wanted to work on baking bread in the old style ovens. A very nice thought for the future.
