Welcome to the home of the Guild of St. Maurice.

The guild recreates a military encampment from the early 16th century and displays of the skills and life of a Landsknecht unit, soldiers of the Holy Roman Empire, and their wives and family members in the baggage train. Our unit, Das Geld Fahnlein, is from Reischach Bavaria. To learn more about the members of the company, see our Guild Roster.

Our patron saint is Saint Maurice (also spelled Moritz, Morris, or Mauritius), who is the patron saint of soldiers, sword smiths, and armies. He is also the patron saint of weavers, dyers, and is invoked against menstrual cramps, so his patronage also extends to the women in the Guild as well as the soldiers in the fahnlein.

The Guild of Saint Moritz was founded in May of 2009, so we are still learning and growing. If you think you might be interested in learning more about the Guild, please visit our Events page and our Recruiting page.  We are based in New England, with members from CT, NH, MA, ME, NY, and RI.
